So, itās all done.
Iāve set up and configured my own website. And let me tell you, it was quite an interesting and, at the end, satisfying journey.
After all much thinking, I decided, rather than using pre-configured and ready-to-use platforms such as Wordpress or Wix, to use Hugo static site generator and self-host it on a Codeberg Pages.
Iām going to keep this blog - and my Substack account - for a month as a transitional period since the date of this post, so that anyone who subscribed to it to begin reading my new blog. And the launch of my own blog will be celebrated with a new blog post that is currently in works.
Without further a do, here is a link to my new website:

New changes coming in
I respect personās privacy and Iām not interested in sneaking into your info. Therefore, there wonāt be any tracking, cookies or analytics on this website. As someone who leans to the pirate party views with a social democrat āflavourā, I always intend to practice what I preach if possible.
In addition, a native RSS feed will be accessible. So if you donāt want to give me your emails, itās all good - RSS feed, which is currently going through its own Renaissance, is available and, moreover, recommended!
However, I have no power or responsibility for logging any IP addresses as this is hosted on Codeberg servers. Long-term plan is to properly self-host the website on Raspberry Pi 5 - if and when I decide to pay my ISP for static IP address service (which they make as non-free, sad).
Content delivery
Unlike Substack, email newsletter would require some additional configuration, on which I have no plan to set up. So in order to keep updated with my blog, you have to use RSS feed - or simply bookmark my page.
Alternatively, my personal recommendation is to install Thunderbird and use it both for your emails (which is compatible with Gmail) and RSS feeds! More information on how to configure your Gmail with Thunderbird is here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-and-gmail
Youāll actually kill two birds with one stone: merge all your emails (depends on provider though) on your PC and also allow yourself to read RSS feeds - not only mine, of course!
Actual content
I came to an understanding that I write posts pretty much rarely, even though I have plenty of ideas on what to write. Iāve attempted to keep the blog more technical, while mixing it up with some of thoughts that not many people cover.
I decided to finally step out of those self-imposed chains.
After such transition, Iām planning to write a bit more often (not every day or week, but hopefully at least once per month or two) on different topics in tech policy, embedded, programming, personal experiences etc. I only hope youāll stay with me on this, and continue to support me!
Future plans
Buy custom domain and configure it;
Buy Raspberry Pi 5 and make my website fully self-hosted and on my own hardware
On that note, goodbye Substack and I wonāt miss you! ;P
